On Monday, August 29, 2011, the Marcellus Central School district welcomed a new group of teachers and staff to the MCS family. New teachers and staff met with Dr. Craig Tice, Superintendent of Schools and Trish McCarron, Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Services for an overview of new initiatives and an introduction to the district, then joined their mentors and other district administrators for a light lunch and conversations on teaching and learning.
Dr. Tice spoke of the need to focus on student learning and the importance of professional conversations with other teachers and parents. He encouraged the new staff to take advantage of all the district offers and become part of our Professional Learning Community. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Audra Sevey, 7-8 Math teacher, Kaley Laine, 7-8 Special Education, Jake Herrick, 9-12 Special Education and Bethany Salvagno, KCH School Nurse to the Marcellus Central Schools.
