Sex offender moves into district

Under the provisions of the Sex Offender Registration Act, commonly referred to as Megan’s Law, law enforcement officials may notify the school district when a dangerous person with a history of sex offenses is paroled or released into the community.

Marcellus Central School District administrators have learned from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) that a Level 2 sex offender recently took up residence within the boundaries of the school district:

·         Mr. Landon J. Cook at 64 North St., Marcellus.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Craig J. Tice has written a letter to parents (
posted online here) with information about Mr. Cook’s criminal history, and a link to the DCJS online offender listing about him.
