The New York State Police in Elbridge are investigating a suspicious incident that occurred this morning between 8:30 and 8:40 a.m. at Bennets Corners Road in Elbridge.
According to state police:
While waiting for the school bus, three children were playing kickball in their driveway. A gray/tan 2011 TOYOTA TUNDRA TRD QUAD-CAB PICKUP TRUCK with yellow license plates stopped in front of the residence. An Asian male in his 40s, standing 5'7" and weighing 200 pounds, wearing a yellow shirt, blue jeans and a short haircut, approached the children holding a red balloon on a string. There was also a white female with blond hair in the passenger seat. The parent of the children was home and was able to intervene and make a report to the police,
We received this report at 3:30 p.m.. Our transportation department was alerted and the drivers were asked to be alert when dropping off their students and to report any suspicious activity. Marcellus School Resource Offiicer John Scanlon is looking into the situation, and we are asking you to be aware and alert to the people around your home and your children. Please report any suspicious activity to 911 immediately.
