The district is pleased to offer a new communications tool, School News Notifier (SNN), to keep parents, school staff and the community in touch with what’s happening in Marcellus Central schools.
Marcellus Central School District will now use the opt-in email alert system to send updates and reminders about news and activities – but only to those who want to receive them.
This system supplements the district's existing emergency notification system, School Messenger, which automatically sends voice and text messages about school closings and emergencies to all parents and guardians, as with last month's alert about the high school lockdown. School News Notifier messages, on the other hand, will go only to those who opt-in to the service.
SNN users can choose to receive some or all of the emails and can unsubscribe at any time. All email addresses and personal information are kept confidential.
To sign up, simply click on the SNN icon on www.marcellusschools.org (or follow this direct link) and create a profile. You will be asked for your name, email address and a password. You will then be asked to select which email updates you would like to receive.
Marcellus is currently offering the following alerts:
- District news. Sign up for this alert to receive news of interest to all district residents, including upcoming Board of Education meetings, the school budget, student achievements and district programs.
- KCH Elementary news. Find out about news, events and activities specific to KCH Elementary School.
- C.S. Driver Middle School news. Find out about news, events and activities specific to C.S. Driver Middle School.
- Marcellus High School news. Find out about news, events and activities specific to Marcellus High School.
After you have chosen your alerts and clicked “subscribe,” you are all set! To change your selected email alerts, simply log into SNN and update your profile. If you no longer want to receive ANY updates, visit the SNN home page, click on the “unsubscribe” link and fill in the form. It’s that simple.
