Every campus across the nation likely feels the fear and loss in Newtown today. School violence, wherever it occurs, hits close to home. In the days ahead, as media coverage of the tragedy continues, many students might have questions about what happened in Connecticut and how it might affect them here in Marcellus. The Marcellus Central School District has put a variety of measures and programs in place over the years to ensure the safety of our school buildings and to respond to emergencies. From the dedication of our School Resource Officers (SROs), to our single points of entry in all three buildings, to our commitment to regularly practice safety drills, the Marcellus Central School District is most vigilant about student safety.

We are even working with officials from the Marcellus Village Police Department to secure grants to infuse additional safety measures in the months ahead.
