The Marcellus Central School District will hold a required "Go Home Early" drill on Friday, Jan. 18.
The drill enables the school district to practice the procedures that would accompany an early dismissal in the event of inclement weather or a loss of power, heat, or water in any of the school buildings. Such drills are required under the state's Safe Schools Against Violence in Education Act passed by the New York State Legislature.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Craig J. Tice included details about the drill in a letter sent home to parents today.
