Marcellus APPR plan featured on CNYCentral

CNYCentral's Alex Resila visited the Marcellus Central Schools campus Monday to report on the successful collaborative effort among teachers and administrators to create the district's Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR), or teacher and principal evaluation plans.

Resila's report includes interviews with Superintendent Dr. Craig Tice, Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Services Trish McCarron, Marcellus High School Principal John Durkee and 11th grade social studies teacher Katherine DeForge.

"What helped in Marcellus, it was a very collaborative effort," Dr. Tice said. "It was almost a group assignment and it was a conversation, if you will, rather than a negotiation back and forth."
