The New York School Public Relations Association has recognized the Marcellus Central School District for outstanding achievement in educational communications.
In NYSPRA’s 33nd Annual Communications Awards competition, which drew more than 300 entries from around the state, Marcellus received an Award of Excellence in the “Excellence in Writing” category for its report on a new cafeteria composting program in the district’s schools. Ten districts were recognized in this category.
Awards will be presented Oct. 26 at the 2012 NYSPRA Awards Luncheon in Rochester, during the annual convention of the New York State School Boards Association.

Each year, NYSPRA sponsors one of the nation's largest awards programs by recognizing outstanding achievement in educational communications. Of more than 300 entries in a closely drawn judging by communications professionals around the country, only about one-third received awards.
