Marcellus High students inducted into National Honor Society

Marcellus High School Principal John Durkee introduces the
school's newest inductees to the National Honor Society.
Forty-four Marcellus Senior High School students were inducted in the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society in a ceremony held during the Board of Education’s regular meeting May 1.

The inductees had to apply for admission to the NHS, as well as provide the selection committee with a history of their various activities and personal references to show their contributions to their workplace or our community. In addition, applicants had to write personal statements explaining why they felt they should be admitted to NHS and why this honor would be important to them. These applications then were reviewed by a committee of Marcellus High School staff members and screened for completeness and content.

“The young men and women you see before you have made it through this difficult process successfully,” Durkee said. “We are pleased to present this group of individuals, who exemplify the characteristics of scholarship, leadership and service.”
