Cullen Stubbs wins National Football Foundation scholarship

Marcellus High School senior Cullen Stubbs was one of more than 60 high school football players in Section III to be honored by the Central New York chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

Cullen received his award, which included a $500 scholarship, during the organization’s 13th annual Scholar Athlete Awards Dinner on Jan. 27 at Turning Stone Resort.

Cullen – who played varsity football for three years, was a captain his senior year and was a starting offensive guard in the 2012 Senior All-Star game – has not yet decided which college he will attend. The decision will likely come down to American University in Washington, D.C., or Syracuse University, according to Marcellus Boosters Club President Sam Scozzafava.
