Spring Concert: Marcellus High School Concert Choir and the Marcellus High School Select Choir TrueSound

The newly renovated Groeling Auditorium took on the special flavor of Irish music and Irish Step Dancing as the Marcellus High School Concert Choir and the Marcellus High School Select Choir TrueSound presented their Spring Concert on June 2, 2010. The program included a special performance by the Irish Session Musicians with an Irish Step Dancing presentation. The Marcellus High School TrueSound, under the direction of Brian Ackles, performed “Steppin’ Out With My Baby”, “Willie Taylor”, “Siuil A Ruin”, “ Sing Me to Heaven”, and Chili Con Carne”. The Irish Session Musicians performed “The Butterfly: Slip Jig”, “Reel”, “Loch Gamhna”, “Treble Jig”, “ Molly Ban”, and “The Aughrims, Marches #1 and #2”. Musicians included Jacqui McCarthy/Tenor Banjo and Guitar, Nick Witmer/Uilleann Pipes/Whistle, Bob Zink/Bodhran/Guitar, Alex Courson/Irish Harp, Sharon Kirkwood/Fiddle. Irish Step Dancers included Molly Caldwell, Corrinne Wheatley, and Rachel Munnett. The Marcellus High School Concert Choir, under the direction of Brian Ackles, performed “Orinoco Flow”, “Danny Boy”, “A Red, Red Rose”, and “You’ll Be in My Heart”. The Irish Session Musicians joined the Concert Choir for “Star of the County Down”, “I’ll Tell Me Ma”, “The Voice”, and “The Little Beggarman”.
