Driver Middle School Flapjack Fundraiser

The Driver Middle School (DMS) student council and yearbook committee helped to bring the Marcellus community together as they held their annual Flapjack Fundraiser on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in the Marcellus Senior High School Cafeteria. Students, families, and community members enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, home fries, and beverages for a cost of $6.00 per adult and $4.00 per child over four years old. Funds raised through the event are used to support DMS yearbook and student council activities. The Flapjack Fundraiser alleviates the need for multiple fundraisers throughout the year while at the same time providing a wonderful community and family event during the holiday season. Among the many activities occurring at the Flapjack Fundraiser included:
A visit and photos from Santa
A silent auction and raffle
Holiday entertainment
A pancake eating contest
Dylan Felty won the pancake eating contest in a special “eat off” with Sean King. Thanks go out to faculty advisers Shannon Femano and Cindy Cook for their dedicated efforts in facilitating this event and the many Driver Middle School staff who helped out with preparing the breakfast. The Flapjack Fundraiser was held in conjunction with the Driver Middle School PTA’s Holiday Happening. Dozens of Central New York arts and craft artisans lined the halls of Driver Middle School as the entire Marcellus community turned out to enjoy this annual holiday treat.
