Sixth Grade Students Perform in Elementary All-County Chorus
The Elementary All-County Music Festival was held March 4 and 5, at North Syracuse Junior High School. Eleven sixth grade students from Driver Middle School participated. Congratulations to Emma Glose (soprano), Brianna Linn (soprano), Alexa Murray (alto), and Zach Osborne (alto) who were selected to sing in the All-County Chorus, and Rob Beyel (trombone), Tyler Gerbsch (French horn), Taylor Gould (clarinet), Sydney Lewis (trumpet), Lisa Morocco (clarinet), Colette Rigas (clarinet), and Hannah Tarolli (flute), who were selected to participate in All-County band. The music-filled weekend consisted of rehearsals Friday after school and Saturday morning through the 2:00 p.m. concert at North Syracuse Junior High. The Elementary All-County Chorus and Band consisted of students selected from Onondaga County elementary and middle school choruses and bands. The chorus performed “When I Open a Book,” “My Own Song,” “Wintersong,” “Feelin’ Good,” and “Seseree Eyee,” a traditional song and dance from the Torres Strait Islands. The concert, held on Saturday afternoon, was performed to a full house of supportive family and friends. The band performed “American Heroes March,” “A Canadian Ballad,” “Avengers,” and “Heartland Overture.”
