2010 Mustang Award Winners, Faculty/Staff

The Marcellus Senior High School Character Education Committee presented the seventh annual Mustang Award for Faculty/Staff at a ceremony held at the May 4, 2010 Board of Education Meeting. Honored with the prestigious award at the ceremony were Marcellus Senior High School teachers Ed Bregande/Technology, Roxanne Tangredi/Special Education, and Richard Belvito/Physical Education. The purpose of the award is “to recognize staff members, students, and community members, who consistently demonstrate the high school character trait motto of integrity, tenacity and community.” Staff members are selected by students, students are selected by staff recipients, and community members are selected by previous recipients and character education committee members. 2010 student and community Mustang Award honorees will be announced at the June 15, 2010 Board of Education meeting. Outlined below are the dedications for this year’s staff Mustang Award recipients:

Ed Bregande: “Mr. Bregande brings an outside the box component to our students’ education. Through his experiential classroom, students have opportunities to acquire life-long creative skills that will foster them in meeting the technological future of their society. He sees the best in the students and facilitates their learning so that they are able to function through the trade they choose to pursue. He supports students in their life decisions and prepares them for the world of work and for the technological aspects of higher education.”

Roxanne Tangredi: “Mrs. Tangredi’s encouragement, expertise, and enthusiasm support students in achieving beyond their expectations. She believes that all students have the ability to learn the academic content and to apply that learning. She fosters students in believing in themselves.”

Richard Belvito: “Mr. Belvito keeps students’ minds and bodies active. He directs them in a positive manner with coaching activities. Under the tutelage the Mustang football program has become an inclusive element of the Marcellus community. He has allowed all Marcellians to have a share in their success.
