Marcellus Elementary Band Showcase Concert

The Marcellus Elementary Band, under the direction of Carmen Costa, lit up the newly renovated Groeling Auditorium with a wonderful array of instrumental music as they presented their traditional “Showcase Concert” on May 12, 2010. The Showcase Concert spotlights each section of the elementary band with an exciting and varied selection of music. Also highlighted at the concert was the always popular and eagerly anticipated “I Am a Fine Musician”. Band members Lisa Morocco/Trumpet player, Aaron Fern/Tuba player, Zach Osborne/Trombone player, and Courtnee Waldref/Piccolo player acted out the parts to perfection as the audience responded with laughter and applause. The program for the Showcase Concert was as follows:

· “Cool Blues for Trumpets” featuring the trumpet section
· “Clarinet Boogie” featuring the clarinet section

· “The Bottom Line” featuring the bass clarinet, bassoon, French Horn, trombone, baritone, and tuba sections

· “Salute to Louis Armstrong” featuring “What a Wonderful World”, “When the Saints Go Marching In”, “St. Louis Blues”, and “Hello Dolly”
