Fifth Grade students at Driver Middle School got a real life look at weather forecasting and broadcasting as meteorologist Chris Brandolino presented to fifth grade classrooms on April 30, 2010 in the Aitchison Auditorium. Brandolino’s hands on power point presentation described “What a Meteorologist Is”, “Where a Meteorologist Works”, as well as the essential elements of meteorology and weather forecasting. Students interacted with the television personality as they discussed:
Frontal Systems
Cloud Formations
Radar and Satellite Forecasting
Careers in Meteorology (Research, Government, Military, TV/Radio, Websites)
Students had the opportunity to ask questions as they explored this unique and interesting career choice.
