Annual Select Choral Concert

The vocal talents of students from the Marcellus Central School District and the Skaneateles Central School District were on display as the Annual Select Choral Concert was presented on Sunday, May 1, 2011 in the Aitchison Auditorium at Driver Middle School. The concert marked the ninth time that the Marcellus and Skaneateles choral groups have joined together for a spring concert. The Skaneateles Middle School Select Choir, under the direction of Colleen Anna, performed “Keep in the Middle of the Road” and “Exsultate Jubilate”. The Skaneateles High School Madrigal Choir, under the direction of Michael Kringer, performed “Bonzorno Madonna”, “Spiritual”, “Amo De Mi Alma”, and “Chindia”. The Skaneateles Middle School Treble Select Choir ,under the direction of Colleen Anna, performed “In Paradisum”. The Marcellus High School Select Choir, under the direction of Brian Ackles, performed “Cantate Domino”, “Somewhere”, and “Son De Camaguey”. The combined choirs performed “Blow, Blow Thou Winter Wind” and “Stand Upon the Rock”. The featured selection for the afternoon concert was “Lux Aeterna” performed by the combined high school choirs. Thanks go out to accompanist Anna Egert and to Michael Cirmo who accompanied on percussion for “Son De Camaguey”.
