Driver Middle School Home and Careers Cultural Festival

Driver Middle School 7th grade students got a “taste” of world cultures as the Home and Careers program under the direction of teacher Emma McHugh held a Cultural Festival the week of March 8th. Each Home and Careers student researched a country and developed a written report on the culture and traditions of each respective country. Students presented the researched information to their peers through an oral presentation that included both power point and poster/picture displays. The intent of the project was to “give students a better understanding of how people can be similar and also different”. The cultural festival came to a delicious conclusion with a celebration held on March 12th. Students had the opportunity to taste and sample food from around the world as prepared at home by students and their families.
