Marcellus Senior High School Art Students Exhibit Their Talents

Marcellus Senior High School student artists continue to share their exceptional talents with exhibitions of their art work taking place at three different area venues this spring. Colin Hewitt’s Scholastic Art Awards winning drawing “Withheld Mind” is on display at the Everson Museum in the downstairs gallery behind the auditorium. Zachary Garrison’s Scholastic Gold and American Visions Awards winning piece “Hysteria” and Colin Hewitt’s Scholastic Gold and American Vision Awards winning piece “A Night in San Francisco” are at the Delevan Center Gallery on West Fayette Street in Syracuse. The opening reception for the Delevan Center Gallery exhibition was held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 5 PM-7 PM. Additionally, the artistic creations of ten (10) Marcellus Senior High School art students will be on display at the Skaneateles Artisans Gallery on Fennel Street in Skaneateles through April 2nd. The works will be exhibited as part of the first annual high school art invitational along with works from Skaneateles High School and West Genesee High School. There will be a people’s choice award for this exhibit and all are invited to cast their votes. Marcellus students included in this exhibit include Matt Tompkins, Barrie Lucas Potter, Michelle Martin, Zoe Mullan Stout, Olivia Higgins, Amanda DeSantis, Gail Canne, Lida Brittenham, Megan Tock, and Greg Wellenc. The high school student invitational art show at the Skaneateles Artisans Gallery will be closed out on April 2nd with a display of featured art works from Marcellus, Skaneateles, and West Genesee art teachers.
