Jazz Cabaret

Great music, great food, and great fun were the order of the evening as the Marcellus Fine Arts Department held their annual Jazz Cabaret in the Driver Middle School cafeteria. The Marcellus Senior High School Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Michael Cirmo, and the Driver Middle School Jazz Band, under the direction of Audrey Turner, kept the enthusiastic audience tuned into a variety of jazz sounds and styles. The atmosphere for the night was light and breezy as the bands performed and the audience enjoyed the many wonderful refreshments. The Driver Middle School Jazz Band performed a variety of selections which included “The Creeper”, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, “Autumn Mist”, “Rumba Latina”, and “JB Rides Again”. Members of the Driver Middle School Select Choir were featured on “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” while Genna Rao/Saxophone and Roxana Novak/Trumpet were featured on “Autumn Mist”. Following the DMS Jazz Band performance the combined middle school and Marcellus Senior High School Jazz Ensemble performed “Get Ready” and “Night Train”. Dan Isgar conducted on “Get Ready” while Dan Poorman conducted for “Night Train”. The Marcellus Senior High School Jazz Ensemble performed “Pick Yourself Up”, “Must Be the Blues”, “Mas Que Nada”, “Girl Talk”, “Ran Kan Kan” and “Chameleon”. Featured performers during the high school performance included Dan Isgar/Trombone, Matt Coon/Trumpet, Emily Gascon/Tenor Saxophone, Angela Pugliese/Alto Saxophone, and Zachary Schmidt/Guitar.
