Marcellus Student Artist, Zachary Garrison, Earns National Scholastic Arts Award
Congratulations go out to Zachary Garrison, Class of 2010, who has been awarded a Scholastic Art Awards National Gold Medal for his mixed media piece, “Hysteria” and a Scholastic Art Awards Silver Medal for his entire Fine Arts Portfolio. Zach was previously honored this school year at the Regional Scholastic Arts competition held at Onondaga Community College on January 21, 2010 where he became the first Marcellus Senior High School student artist to be selected for the competition’s top “Best in Show” honor. Zach, along with Marcellus art teacher Donna Nicholas, have been invited to the Scholastic National Awards ceremony and celebration to be held in New York City on June 9th and 10th. He will be receiving his awards at Carnegie Hall and his mixed media piece will be on display in New York City at the Scholastic National Art Show.
